Gameboy Pixelart Filter
by Tobias Robert Eeksman
Today all our screens are very effective at displaying images. No matter what resolution, what color and positioning of the pixels. The Gameboy consoles back in the day, didn’t have that luxury. It had some interesting limitation, on what it was able to display.
- Colors: 4 unique colors only
- Resolution: 160 x 144 px
- Blocks: An image has 360 individual 8 x 8 px blocks. But the Gameboy is able to store only 192 unique blocks, requiring repetition to fill the image.
Now you can use the Gameboy filter to see what your images would look like on the console and below you'll find all the 192 unqiue blocks used to form the final result.
